Management and visualization of network routes Layer 1 to Layer N

The core task of AixBOMS Connectivity Management is the assignment of network-based services to paths (routes) within complex meshed network topologies. Service-oriented network operators need algorithms for the search for optimal routes that take into account today's complex component structures (cabinet structure, server cluster, main distributor, etc.), their assignment to logical nodes such as terrain, building and floor nodes and the respective technological properties such as port quality and service characteristics .

AixBOMS Connectivity Management provides various route types, the combination of which enables documentation of any network routes. This also includes routes via unknown sections, multiple routes, multiplexing and redundant routes with the specific attributes required for this (e.g. contract data, contact person). The Connectivity Structure Editor for Layer-N-Routes graphically displays composite network routes with all sections and offers additional functions and access to detailed information via context menus. Overviews such as maps illustrate routes, qualities, and conditions.

Search for optimal routes and use the search results for switching or shunting orders

The route search in AixBOMS Connectivity Management is based on patch nodes, which can be assigned logical or physical properties, or personal or contract data. The algorithm uses criteria such as node hierarchy, occupancy, length, damping, number of patches and the avoidance or inclusion of individual nodes. It is also suitable for the search for redundant routes or several ongoing routes (parallel optical transmission). Patch and work orders can be generated automatically while searching for new or switchover.

The connectivity structure editors, for example, map the network paths between the components - even over unknown sections. The patch nodes that have been run through are displayed along with alternative and planned routes.

Carrier line maps

Special map functions can be used to display and map information geographically. A common example in Connectivity is the representation of leased lines (so-called carrier lines) or WAN connections in long-distance traffic. The number, provider and line speed can be evaluated graphically here.
